Cuisines of Beijing

One of the regions we learned about in Regional Cuisines of China was Beijing, the capital of China. Beijing’s cuisine is a combination of all the other regions of China. Popular dishes are Peking duck, hot and sour soup, and Fried Rice. See below for two of the recipes we made in class!

Cooking for me

With the husband out of town a couple weeks ago, I finally got to make some food just for me.

Curried Carrot Soup with Coconut & Cashews. For some reason, Michael doesn’t think soup can count as a full meal. I think this soup would prove him wrong though. The flavor packs and punch, it’s filling, and the carrots are super yummy! Plus, I finally got a chance to test out my immersion blender. I guess it kind of looks like baby food, but believe me, it’s tasty.
