Things change quite quickly!

One month ago, Michael and I were up North for a week-long vacation with family and friends. Our lives will never be the same. Michael received, and accepted, a job offer in my hometown! You’d think with this baby’s arrival fast-approaching, we’d be planning our move for after its birth, but no, why wait?! We’re moving at the end of the month! On top of all that, and my regular full-time job, I did another dessert bar for a wedding….

The full dessert bar – this was taken on my little point-and-shoot – nowhere near as nice as Dan Stewart’s photos!
Lots of details are now falling into place for the move: switching my baby doctor, getting registered at a new hospital, informing our current employers, transitioning health insurance, finding a place to live, figuring out what to do with our Chicago condo, scheduling moving trucks, packing, etc. All while our due date is nearly upon us (just four weeks to go!). Thank goodness for family and friends, and thank goodness Michael and I have each other. Our to-do list is in a constant state of flux – we’ll check two things off the list, then add five more!

Well just to keep my sanity, I baked up a lot of desserts for this beautiful wedding. Baking really takes the edge off of things, right?
The bride (Jessie) and her husband (Ryan) vacation up north and have family in the area. The wedding party did their prep at Thyme Inn, the ceremony was on Lake Michigan just down the way from the main dock in Glen Arbor, and the reception was at the Glen Arbor Town Hall. The photos from their ceremony on Lake Michigan are stunning, not to mention that this couple is incredibly good-looking!
The “rustic-chic” details for their wedding were wonderful, from the beautiful floral arrangements (done by Field of Flowers Farm) to the driftwood signage. Also, they rode a carriage to/from their ceremony. So classic!
On the dessert menu:

- Small cutting cake (carrot cake) with Italian buttercream ruffle frosting
- Kentucky Bourbon Caramels
- Creme Brulee Cupcakes
- Peanut Butter Cake Ball Lollipops
- Lemon Bar Bites
- Dark Cherry Brownie Bites
- Spiced Carrot Cupcakes
- Chocolate Chip Pudding Cookies
- Mini Raspberry Cheesecakes
- Mini Apple Streusel Pies
- Mini English Toffee Pecan Pies

More shots from my point-and-shoot camera, just to give you an idea of the variety!

Thanks to Dan Stewart Photography for all the incredible photos. For more photos from this wedding, please visit Dan’s blog. And if you’re in need of a photographer for an event in Northern Michigan, definitely contact Dan, he does great work.

I can't even imagine how you pulled all this off!

So excited to see Dan's work–he'll be doing my brother (and future sister-in-law's) wedding on New Year's eve:
