Baking and Pastry – Day 11
Brownies and Raspberry Bars Sorry the photos are so dark, and mind the lovely paper towel background! I snapped these shots with my iPhone in my office the morning after class. Ugly photography aside, everyone at work really enjoyed the brownies and raspberry bars from Day 11 in Baking & Pastry 101. A couple people even [...]Archive

My cooking show debut
Well, I’m no Rachael Ray, but I did get to skim the fat on a nationally-syndicated cooking show. I come on about 2 minutes in. Check it out! To view the full episode called Luscious Lamb, click here. Or, watch me and my mom be part of the studio audience on the episodes Tall Veggies [...]Archive

Baking and Pastry – Day 10

Baking and Pastry – Day 8
Cinnamon Rolls and my Midterm Making cinnamon rolls (part of the curriculum on Day 7 of Baking & Pastry) was pretty straight-forward. Supper Club – Take 1
Ethiopian in Chicago Kenna, Lena, Alison, George and Mike (Michael took the photo…and did not participate in making the food, but he ate it!) What better way to learn about a new food than to just go ahead and make it yourself? I’ve never gone to an Ethiopian restaurant, so when our friend Lena suggested [...]Archive

The Kentucky Derby….in Chicago
Well, it was a sad day for us, being the first time we did not get to Kentucky for the Derby since we started dating. And, Michael’s first Derby away from Kentucky, EVER. To alleviate our sorrows, we invited over some friends and made some Kentucky-style treats. Benedictine (best cucumber dip in the world) and [...]Archive
